In its four years of existance, it has covered 835 kilometres and climbed more than 22.860 metres of elevation, having a total of 3.705 mountain bikers from 31 different nationalities, amongst them its ambassador, Carlos Coloma, three times Olympic athlete from La Rioja, who holds a bronze medal (Rio 2016) and an Olympic diploma (London 2012).
Besides Carlos Coloma, world, continental and national champions from diverse disciplines and sports have taken part in La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano, attracted by its wonderful surroundings, route and charm. The 2018 edition also expects the presence of great specialists of the national and international Mountain Bike, whose names will be discovered soon.
Since La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano appeared in 2014 it has had the approval of the Internatonal Cycling Union (UCI), being included as a second class international MTB stage race. A necessary award for the classification of countries and mountain bikers for the Olympic Games which next Olympic cycle (Tokyo 2020) will precisely begin in May 2018.
