La Rioja Bike Race 2025 kicks off with an explosive opening time trial in Logroño

The opening time trial crowns Ever Alejandro Gómez and Noemí Moreno as the first leaders of La Rioja Bike Race

The 2025 edition of La Rioja Bike Race kicked off this afternoon with a fast-paced and explosive individual time trial (XCT) around the outskirts of Logroño. Before the start of the competition, at 12:00 PM, the official presentation of La Rioja Bike Race 2025 was held in Logroño, with the presence of local authorities, sponsors, and some of the top contenders for the final podium.

Starting at 3:00 PM, riders took off one by one from Calle Grecia, facing a fast and demanding course that tested both the physical strength and technical skills of the best mountain bikers on the national scene.

With a fantastic atmosphere and the enthusiastic support of the local crowd, this first stage has already created significant gaps in the general classification and revealed the first leaders of the 2025 edition.

In the men’s category, the fastest of the day was Bolivian rider Ever Alejandro Gómez, who showcased his power on an explosive and technical route to become the first overall leader. He was joined on the podium by Xavier Pijuan, who finished second, and Mario Sinués, in third place.

In the women’s race, Noemí Moreno claimed victory with a strong and confident performance, earning her the leader’s jersey. The women’s podium was completed by Txell Figueres, second, and Esther Villaret, third.

Tomorrow, the race continues with the Škoda Super Stage, the second stage of La Rioja Bike Race 2025, featuring a pure mountain bike route with start and finish at the Palacio de los Deportes de La Rioja. Services for riders and spectators will open at 8:30 AM, with starting grids forming at 9:10 AM. The official stage start is scheduled for 9:30 AM, and the first finisher is expected around 12:44 PM.
