Felipe Orts and Txell Figueras take the final victory at La Rioja Bike Race by Pirelli

Martí Arán won the men's stage, and Figueras again won the women's stage, completing the hat-trick.

Felipe Orts (Vila Joiosa Neteo) in men and Txell Figueras (Cannondale ISB Sport Team) in women are the winners of La Rioja Bike Race presented by Pirelli 2024.

There were no changes in the last one, which started and finished at the Palacio de los Deportes de Logroño, and both riders have been able to manage the margin they had in the overall, and are the overall winners of this edition.

In men, the stage went to Martí Aran (RR Bikers Club), who beat Axel Badia (IronTech Tecnic Mendiz Ambisist) in a tight sprint. A few meters behind came Felipe Orts, who secured his victory in the overall classification in his first participation in La Rioja Bike Race presented by Pirelli.

The three riders took off on the first climb and understood each other very well until the finish line, where Orts dropped slightly to let Aran and Badia compete for the partial victory in the sprint, which this time went to the first rider. Yesterday, Aran himself was just a few meters away from winning, as Orts overtook him in the sprint, but today he was able to make up for it and take the win.

In the overall classification, Orts has achieved the victory by more than three minutes ahead of Aran, who finished 2nd, and Badia, who completes the podium in 3rd place.

"I'm very happy, I came to fight for the overall, I felt very good, especially today, I had a very good feeling. We arrived three riders at the end and I was able to secure the overall. I tried to take some risks and they wanted to compete for the stage, so they pushed a bit harder at the end, but I think the three escapees were satisfied", explained Orts on the podium.

In the women's race, there were no surprises and Txell Figueras once again took the stage win, making it three in this edition, and repeating victory in the overall for the third consecutive year. Pilar Fernández (VAS C.D.) came in 2nd position in the same time as Cristina Morán (BTT Sport Cangas), who repeated in 3rd position.

In the overall classification, Figueras overtook Fernández, 2nd, and Morán, 3rd, thus achieving three overall victories in a row.

"Today's stage was a bit hard for me, not because of the mud, but because of the effort on the first climb. Winning three years in a row is a good memory to take home, and it makes me want to come back next year for the victory. I really like this race, there are demanding and technical trails. And if it rains, it's even more fun," said Figueras after the stage.

La Rioja Bike Race presented by Pirelli 2024 closes after 3 incredible stages of the best mountain biking in a unique territory. This 10th edition has once again been an absolute success, and for this reason, the organization wants to thank the 700 cyclists, institutions, sponsors and volunteers thanks to whom this event is already an international reference.
