Although perhaps it will be remembered as the intense, the most participative, international and increased women presence edition of La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano, it has been the confirmation of the regard that this race receives from all the mountain bikers and cycling fans.
On the organisation we are very happy and proud of the work done and we want to thank everyone every moment of this magical three days. Train well and be prepared ... because the clock that counts the days left for 2019 La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano is already running!

In his debut, The Netherlands’ Mathieu Van der Poel (Corendon-Circus) has scored a hat trick by claiming all three stage wins. The Spaniard Clàudia Galicia (Megamo) repeats victory to win all five editions of La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano. Enrique Morcillo (BUFF@-Scott MTB Team) and Ever Alejandro Gómez (Olympia Cycling Factory) complete the elite men’s podium in the general classification; Hildegunn Hovdenak (VPG) and Carla Fernández (Scott-Sanferbike) do the same in the women's.

The Dutchman, Mathieu Van der Poel (Corendon-Circus), leads the general classification after beating the Spaniard, Enrique Morcillo (Buff®-Scott MTB Team), and the Romanian, Vlad Dascalu (Brújula Bike Brújula Bike Racing Team), today in a tight finish in what was a very demanding stage. The Norwegian, Hildegunn Hovdenak (VPG), ended the Spaniard Clàudia Galicia’s (Megamo) victory streak by winning the stage, although Hovdenak trails distantly in the general classification.
